Detailed explanations of every feature and function in Nutshell

Roles

There are three types of User in Nutshell:

Administrators

These guys have access to everything, including the Nutshell builder interface. Administrators can create and manage users, groups and apps, as well as accessing the support helpdesk to deal with problems your user community might be having. They can also upgrade your Nutshell subscription, and add new licenses. Since administrators can build apps, each one requires a license of their own.

App Builders

These guys have access only to the Nutshell builder interface. App builders cannot see or manage other users or groups, or meddle with your subscription level. They’re also subject to stricter access-control policies than administrators. Access control is discussed in more detail later in this Reference Guide. Each app builder requires a license of their own.

End-Users

These guys don’t get access to the Nutshell web interface at all. Instead, they can download and install the Nutshell container app from the appropriate app store to their device of choice. When logged into the container app, they’ll see any apps they’ve been granted permission to use. End-users do not require a license of their own. Every Nutshell subscription comes with a generous allowance of end-users included, and more can be purchased if necessary.
